About the Practitioner

Marie-Noelle has been a nationally certified and a practicing massage therapist since August 2011 and she has been a member of Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals since February 2011.

She graduated from George Mason University as a Presidential Scholar in 1996 with a BA in International Studies and Minors in Contemporary Europe and Spanish. She started working in the corporate world, and then went into the hotel industry. Six years later, after 4 promotions, she pursued her hotel career in Paris, France followed by her husband who is a painter. After a short stint in the art business, and after living abroad for five years, she decided to make a major life change and pursue a career in Massage Therapy. She completed her professional training at National Massage Therapy Institute in Falls Church, VA in June 2011 and was awarded national certification in July 2011. From August 2011 to May 2014, she worked in a spa inside an athletic club. During that time, she worked with a wide variety of athletes. She improved her skills in Swedish and Deep Tissue Massage, and became certified in Sports Massage and Pre-Natal Massage.

Marie-Noelle believes that as our work and life environment become more demanding, they become more stressful as well. We have fewer opportunities to relieve the tension in our everyday lives. This means there is an increased need for Massage Therapy to allow our minds to relax.  Massage Therapy aids our bodies physically as well. It increases circulation thereby renewing our cells, improves respiration, and speeds up recovery from injury. In short, she believes that the benefits of Massage Therapy on our physical and psychological health improve our quality of life.
